I've been on the hedge for almost a year now on whether to buy an ATC2K, but decided to take the plunge with the 3K. I'll start with the bad, since they are very few, and easy to forgive. 1)Like everyone else, I will say that the audio quality is poor to useless. Since I'm willing to bet that the majority of things filmed using this camera will be put to music anyway, bad sound is a moot point. I'll need the waterproof capabilies so I don't care about the sound, but if you really feel the need to get good sound, I'd suggest the mods on this website: www.utahtrikes.com UPDATE: Underwater sound is great, and waterproofing is fantastic, as can be seen in the snorkling footage I took: www.youtube.com 2)No view screen means you're never really sure if you have the picture centered. They're coming out with a ATC5K soon with a screen, but it's almost twice the price. Adjusting the camera along all 3 axis is a snap, so getting close-to-centered shots is almost assured. 3)Field of view is still a bit narrow. I'd suggest turning your head slightly left if there's something over there you'd like to get on film. Same goes for the right. But if you MUST have a wide angle view, see the above link. Now for the good: 1)It's cheap. Really cheap for a self-contained helmet camera, so the rest of these points are moot. 2)It's truly waterproof. Nobody de facto wants, or needs the best of anything. It doesn't matter, either it's digital cameras, automobiles, homes, or jet airplanes. What we de facto want and expect, is value for our money. If I'm going to spend 0 for a camera, then I better get 0 worth of features and potential from that camera. If I spend 00 on a camera, then I better get 00 worth back as well. If you supervene a few straightforward rules, you'll see how easy it is to get the best camera your money can buy.

My favorite, and the one most relevant to our seminar is, "Ninety percent of all is crap." It's simple, direct and brutally honest. It also de facto helps narrow down our search. Of procedure if the above seems like to much work for you slackers out there, here's my short list of great cameras that are all money well spent. In the under 0 category, the Canon PowerShot A570Is. It's a straightforward point and shoot with 4x zoom lens, image stabilization, and Canon reliability. For the portability minded ultra compact FaceBook crowd, you can't go wrong with the Canon PowerShot Sd1000 Digital Elph. Slightly less image potential then the A570Is, and slightly more expensive, but a very easy traveler. other favorite compact of mine is the Olympus Stylus 790Sw. The only waterproof, shockproof, dust proof, and frost proof camera I know.
